The primary modular enterprise access switching platform of the Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series switches in the Catalyst 9000 family is designed to transition to networks for the hybrid world. In this world, workplaces are no longer in one central location; various types of devices are used at different places, and applications are somehow spread out. With a set of five supervisors for every possible campus configuration availability and collection of the Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series switches, alongside Cisco’s campus-specific 100G and 25G optics, it enables adaptable architectural transformations while offering security.
Features of C9400-SUP-2
- The C9400-SUP-2 supervisor engine supports two non-blocking 25-Gigabit Ethernet uplinks.
- On the C9400-SUP-2, you could have as many as 2 non-blocking uplinks for 40 Gigabit Ethernet (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable [QSFP]) and as many as 8 non-blocking uplinks for 10 Gigabit Ethernet (SFP+).
- There are RJ-45 ports that are 10/100/1000 non-blocking up to 384 ports.
- Maximum possible 392 non-blocking SFP (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports (C9400-SUP-2). Maximum 384 non-blocking SFP (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports (C9400X-SUP-2).
- Support dual-stack for both IPv4 and IPv6, together with dynamic hardware forwarding tables, which will ease the migration from IPv4 to IPv6.
- Support for both static and dynamic NAT and Port Address Translation (PAT) is available.
